An “out – standing” experience – walking to Monte Cassino
Saint Benedict founded Monte Cassino in the Ciociaria mountains. Our tour will start in Umbria. His hometown Norcia lies in the middle of the scenic Monti Sibellini which are worth a walk. Slowly we will proceed to the Ciociaria – area, crossings the Rieti Valley. We enjoy scenic villages and isolated monasteries, follow the donkey trails and scenic mountain paths until we reach fascinating Monte Cassino. The monastery is still the centre of Christendo and at the same time a symbol of destruction. Many visitors come to Monte Cassino to go back in time and see where there relatives fought during world war II.
