Abruzzo between sea and mountains
The Abruzzo region is less touristic compared to other parts of central Italy and we really don’t know why. The highest mountains of the Appennino are waiting for us. It is a pleasure to hike in “little Tibet”, the plain below mount Gran Sasso. Pass charming villages like Castel del Monte or Santo Stefano and see the picturesque setting of “Ladyhawke” and “The name of the rose” at Calascio which makes a spectacular hike. The green hills make you enjoy a bucolic atmosphere far from the beaten tracks. And also at the seaside the coast reserves us me nice surprises. Punta Aderci and its surroundings are enjoyable beaches perfect for a “hike and bath”.
Visit an authentic region full of beautiful varying landscapes, relax at the seaside and enjoy the rustic, delicious sheperds’ food with a glass of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo.
